Police are looking for this SUV in connection with the death of Murat Omar. The vehicle is described as a 2000 to 2003 silver Acura MDX. (Calgary Police Services) Police were called to the 1400 block of Eighth Street N.W. for a report of gunshots just after 3 a.m. MT. They discovered Omar's body in an alley upon arrival. Police captured an image of the Acura on closed-circuit television (CCTV) and are asking for the public's help to identify and locate it. No suspects have been identified at this time. An autopsy got underway on Monday, but police say the cause of death has yet to be determined. "Although the investigation continues, this is believed to have been a targeted attack," said police in a release. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or Calgary Crime Stoppers. The death came a day after the shooting at a New Year's Eve party in Killarney that killed 27-year-old Abdullahi Ahmed and injured six others. Both men were members of the Calgary Somali community, but police say the two incidents are not related. ======================================================================= Did no decision maker in the Dept. of Justice see the movie or read the book "Blackhawkdown"? Import people, import their culture. Why would they respect the culture and laws of a kufir nation? Unless there are conditions attached to that, which evidently there were not. The Liberal response to the Somalian incident was to disband the Airborne unit. A new replacement regiment has been formed finally, the two other policies are still in effect. As for the imposition of restrictive gun control on peaceable Canadians. Somehow, this group who formed drug gangs didn't sign on or sign up or give a damn, and why should they, it's had zero negative effect on their business. Hey back home all they'd have an opportunity for would be applying to join a pirate ship gang. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Jan 2015 00:27:09 -0600 From: Larry James Fillo Subject: "Hunter in deer stand kills bear that began climbing up tree" UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — A deer hunter in a tree stand fatally shot a black bear that began climbing up the tree toward him after it got within a few feet of him, state wildlife officials said. The Sayreville man was armed with a 12-gauge shotgun on Saturday morning when he inadvertently made noise that drew the young male bear's attention, authorities said. The bear, estimated to weigh about 85 to 100 pounds, then began climbing up one of the tree trunks supporting the stand, which was 10 to 12 feet high. The hunter shouted at the bear several times, hoping to scare it away, which is recommended by wildlife officials, but the bear kept climbing, authorities said. The hunter shot the bear when it was about 3 feet away because he feared for his safety, they said. The shooting happened in Hunterdon County, state Department of Environmental Protection spokesman Larry Ragonese said. The bear fell out of the tree and landed on the ground. The hunter left the stand and soon found a fisherman nearby, and they contacted the DEP to report the shooting, which occurred outside black bear hunting season. Evidence found at the scene appeared to confirm the hunter's account, Ragonese said. It's unclear if the bear was trying to attack the hunter or if it smelled something on him, such as the residual odor of food. The hunter had first noticed the bear walking in the area about an hour before the shooting occurred, Ragonese said. Wildlife officials say the hunter did just about everything they recommend to make a bear flee and won't face any charges. The last state bear hunt, which lasted six days, ended on Dec. 13. About 270 black bears were killed in six counties, with only five killed in Hunterdon. The number of reports of aggressive bears has dropped since the hunts resumed in 2010. But a Rutgers University student, Darsh Patel, was mauled to death by a bear in September while hiking with friends. Patel's death is the only known bear mauling in state history. ========================================================================= New Jersey had it's first mauling death by a bear this past Sept. in it's history? So over the protection of bears and that state's penchant for gun control achieved something notable. Actually, that is a North American trend notable in Canada, too. As for the hunter, good thing he had a shotgun loaded with, I'd guess, slugs. A 100 pound bear is much stronger than a man and "well armed". A last snack before hibernation would be very nutritive and assist in making for a shiny spring coat. (A younger bear like that would make good stew, or so a Metis woman I know, would say from experience.) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Jan 2015 13:47:42 -0600 From: Larry James Fillo Subject: "High River RCMP seek 4 men in careless use of firearm ... ...incident" Interesting, but also vague, but nothing the CBC could not see as enough of a priority to cover. Information was fed to the police by thousands of clandestine sources – and a seemingly banal or routine interaction with nearly anyone could lead to a surprise “knock on the door” by authorities. During the late Soviet era, communist leadership moved away from the executions and purges of the Stalin years and began to increasingly rely upon medical professionals to diagnose “enemies of the state” as insane – thus, a routine trip to your doctor could lead to a visit from police. Although the Cold War ended over two decades ago, a lawsuit filed December 17 in U.S. District Court in Rochester, NY alleges that such heavy-handed police-state tactics are presently being employed in Andrew Cuomo’s New York. The suit, filed by attorney Paloma Capanna on behalf of plaintiff Donald Montgomery, alleges that the New York State Police ordered the permanent confiscation of Mr. Montgomery’s registered handguns after he sought treatment for insomnia. The confiscation was ordered under Cuomo’s “SAFE Act” gun-control law. The allegations in the case are downright scary. The complaint contends that Montgomery, a Navy veteran and retired police officer who rose to the rank of detective sergeant during his 30-year career, voluntarily sought treatment for insomnia at a hospital on Long Island in May of 2014 after relocating to a new home several hundred miles from his previous residence. According to the suit, the hospital diagnosed the plaintiff as “mildly depressed,” and his clinical evaluation stated, “Patient has no thoughts of hurting himself. Patient has no thoughts of hurting others. Patient is not having suicidal thoughts. Patient is not having homicidal thoughts…” and “there is no evidence of any psychotic processes, mania, or OCD symptoms. Insight, judgment, and impulse control are good.” The suit further alleges that a psychiatrist told the plaintiff, “I don’t know why you were referred here. You don’t belong here.” Nonetheless, the suit contends that five days after being discharged from the hospital, the local sheriff’s department showed up at Montgomery’s door and seized his four registered handguns, including his former duty sidearm, after the sheriff had been subjected to “repeated pressure” by the New York State Police, who claimed that Montgomery had been declared mentally defective and had been involuntarily committed to a mental institution. Montgomery alleges that the hospital violated his privacy by transmitting his medical information to the State Police without his consent or knowledge. Montgomery subsequently requested a hearing to have his handgun ownership permit reinstated, but the sheriff’s department allegedly terminated his permit without a hearing. The suit alleges that police denied Montgomery’s Freedom of Information requests to see what information has been placed in his secret file, and that both police and the hospital refused to allow him to correct the falsehoods in his record. The suit names Gov. Cuomo, Eastern Long Island Hospital, and several state officials, including the superintendent of state police and the local sheriff, as defendants, and alleges that they violated Montgomery’s Second-, Fourth-, Fifth-, and Fourteenth-Amendment rights. It seeks injunctive and declaratory relief for Montgomery and all similarly situated persons. Last year, Cuomo publicly stated that “extreme conservatives” – namely, gun owners and opponents of abortion and gay marriage – “have no place in the State of New York.” In other words, they are enemies of the state. Cuomo’s use of medical records against gun owners under his “SAFE Act” is clearly an effort to confiscate firearms from people who “have no place” in his police state. Residents of other states should be wary that progressives will make similar efforts to use the federally mandated electronic medical database required by Obamacare against gun owners and/or political dissidents in the future. A tragic case of Call 911 and Die. When you call 911, you are calling for someone with a gun to come to help you.(Officer VPD 144) Except, that when danger is seconds away, the police are minutes away. =============================================================== RCMP investigating after woman found dead at Strathmore home Reid Southwick, Calgary Herald More from Reid Southwick, Calgary Herald Clara Ho, Calgary Herald More from Clara Ho, Calgary Herald Colleen De Neve More from Colleen De Neve Published on: January 6, 2015Last Updated: January 6, 2015 6:24 PM MST RCMP believe a woman who called 911 asking for help early Tuesday was found dead minutes later at her Strathmore home. Staff Sgt. Kevin Reilly told reporters officers received a 911 call from a female at the residence shortly after 1 a.m. Minutes later, they arrived at the home and found a woman dead. EMS was called by RCMP at around 1:30 a.m. but they were stood down and no one was transported to hospital. “The death is considered suspicious at this time,” Reilly said. The tragic incident and the police presence it attracted to 6th Avenue across the street from Sacred Heart Academy has interrupted what one neighbour called “a sleepy little village” where “everyone keeps to themselves.” “We’ve only moved here five months ago from England, and there’s loads of crime there,” Sarah Newman said. “And we were hoping to come here to get away from a bit of it, only for it to be right on the front doorstep.” Reilly said there has been just one homicide in town in the eight years he has worked at the Strathmore detachment. The 6th Avenue death would make it the second, if police classified it a homicide. RCMP Major Crimes have been called to a possible suspicious death in a fourplex in the 100 block of Sixth Avenue in Strathmore on January 6, 2015. Colleen De Neve / Calgary Herald Investigators were still trying to notify the woman’s family and have not released her name. She was a tenant at the home and lived alone, Reilly said. But neighbours said they believed a man also lived at the home. A pickup truck loaded with belongings had been parked outside a couple weeks ago, though it was unclear whether they were being moved in or out, said Aaron Sturtevant, who lives next door. Sturtevant said nothing was amiss when he went to bed after midnight. He and other neighbours said they didn’t hear anything overnight. “It makes me a little cautious, feeling a little concerned, just really curious to know what’s going on,”Ashley Reina said, adding she wouldn’t describe the neighbours as “the happiest, friendliest people.” Reilly declined to offer any details surrounding the 911 call only to say it was a request for assistance. The address is not previously known to police, he said. Persons of interest have been identified but no one is in custody at this time, he said, adding witnesses are being interviewed. There is no cause for public concern, he said. The front and back alley of the multiplex in the 100 block of 6th Avenue remained blocked off late Tuesday afternoon with yellow tape and police cruisers. Investigators wearing white jumpsuits could occasionally be seen at the home’s front door, where a window was smashed. Officers with the RCMP major crimes and identification sections are assisting the Strathmore detachment with the case. Neighbour Connie Carson said she awoke to find police officers probing the scene. She said the building they have surrounded is new, replacing a home that burned down several years ago. Carson said she didn’t see or hear anything suspicious overnight and doesn’t know any of the residents. “Usually, it’s really quiet,” she said. “We have a school right here, it’s not a bad place. You never know who is moving in.” RCMP Major Crimes have been called to a suspicious death in a fourplex in the 100 block of Sixth Avenue in Strathmore on January 6, 2015. Colleen De Neve / Calgary Herald Callum Greenaway, who lives across the alley, said he was shocked to find the residential building all taped off by police. Greenaway said he often waves hello at the residents who live in the multiplex, adding they all appear polite, but he doesn’t know them personally. “It’s very out of the ordinary,” he said. “You don’t expect anything like that to happen around here.” ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Jan 2015 01:19:59 -0600 From: Larry James Fillo Subject: "Syria: Isis chief executioner found beheaded with cigarette ... ...in his mouth" http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/syria-isis-chief-executioner-found-beheaded-cigarette-his-mouth-1482101 "He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword.
