Police recovered shell casings near Inside nightclub, located near Queen St. W. and University Ave. Police say the shooter ran out of the club and into a limo occupied by friends that was parked nearby. Seven people have been arrested, but charges have yet to be determined. Police said no one appears to have been injured. A vehicle in the same neighbourhood had two bullet holes in it, but police could not say whether the two incidents were connected. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Oct 2008 12:54:43 -0400 From: Bill Subject: My reply to the CPC fundraiser email A Donation will be forthcoming, just as soon as the _'original'_ promises regarding the firearms act are fulfilled.. I.E. CC's 91 & 92 are gone, the registry is gone, and the license has been replaced with the promised "Certificate screening system" similar to the previous FAC.. For the next year the conservatives will be virtually bulletproof as far as pushing through legislation is concerned. _NOW_ is the time to make these promised changes. If the conservatives do nothing, millions of Canadians are going to remain criminals because of CC91&92, and as far as I'm concerned, if the promises are not kept, there will be no point in even voting in future elections.. Because of the asinine stance the opposition parties had on legal firearms, law abiding firearm owners were in all probably, the largest single block votes the conservatives received. Don't disregard your previous promises, your going to need us in the future.. More than six years after he was arrested as part of a crackdown on the Outlaw motorcycle club, William Mellow, 44, of Bolton, one of three men still charged in the Project Retire investigation, signed off from one of the longest prosecutions at the Middlesex County courthouse. "I'm glad it's over with and I want to get on with my life," he told Superior Court Justice Lynda Templeton. Mellow, who has lived under strict bail conditions since 2002, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of possession of a handgun without a licence. He was fined $1,000 and placed on probation for a year. Seven other charges were withdrawn. The former national secretary-treasurer of the motorcycle club was arrested along with more than 50 others across Ontario on Sept. 25, 2002, part of Project Retire, a three-year investigation into the Outlaw motorcycle club. The London courthouse was designated to handle the mammoth prosecution -- thought to have been the largest in number of defendants -- leading to construction of the high- security courtroom on the 14th floor. But the room has been used more for another high-profile prosecution -- the preliminary hearing for six men charged in deaths of eight Bandido bikers in Elgin County in April 2006. The Outlaws case has crawled through the courts, with many cases resolved and 16 pleading guilty to criminal organization charges. Mellow and two others --former national president Mario Parente, 59 of Hamilton, and Luis Ferriera, 32, of Hamilton -- were the final three involved in the prosecution. Parente and Ferriera's cases are still before the court and remain in pre-trial stage. Crown counsel Alex Smith told Templeton police arrested Mellow on criminal organization charges. Mellow told police before they searched his home and other buildings he had a handgun in his bedroom and a shotgun in his garage. Police found a loaded 10-mm handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition in a bedroom. An unloaded 12-gauge shotgun was found wrapped in a black plastic bag in the garage. The barrelhead been cut down. Some hash oil, steroids and a syringe were found in the bedroom. Police also found $11,065 in cash in Mellow's Cadillac. Templeton ordered Mellow not to have weapons for 10 years and not to associate with any members of the Outlaws, Hells Angels, Bandidos or Black Piston motorcycle clubs. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 19 Oct 2008 10:14:11 -0700 From: "Willy Floyd" Subject: Goodness gracious I am amazed that various contributors are resorting to chewing yesterday's gum for lack of anything better to do. We all disagree from time to time and there are moles and Harper sycophants all over the pro-gun lobby. This is to be expected as the whole Firearms Act (as amended) is beyond the real of law-makers anyway. They just haven't yet been brought to realize that their tangential view of things is going nowhere. We have something better to do. We must prepare for the next phase, and as I see it, it it will take one of two forms: If Harper makes feeble motions at dumping the long gun registry our true opposition battle remains the same. Even if it wasn't costing a bundle the long gun registry achieves none of the stated aims. Without the people registry (licensing) it is worthless and in a country like Canada it is unenforceable. So dumping it is no loss to the gun grabbers. He will attempt to make it the "grand concession" to win back our support. DO NOT GET SUCKED IN BY THOSE PEPSODENT SMILES, as the old Gimli song has it. You can bet your last box of empty brass that he will attach a corollary to such a concession in order to appease the Cukier Crowd and the Frogs and that will be just another pain in the ass to us. The only way a Government in Canada hopes to achieve their secret desire of a total gun ban is by way of the people registry. Read recent and ancient history. It is the "People Registry" we must combat because if it is eliminated, we have won. IT IS THOSE WHO HAVE REGISTERED GUNS WHO MUST STILL FEAR because that list will never disappear. The ones who will be worst off are those (vast majority) of registrants who have not declared ALL of their guns. Why is this so? Because a request for permission (Licence application) stating your name, place of residence and the request to own a firearm and keep it at that place is a form of affidavit in the eyes of the courts and guarantees an approved warrant to search by any police constable on any trumped up demand. Sadly, I made that point years ago after Brian Ward's episode. Far more likely is that Caesar Stephanus will declare, from the pedestal in his version of the Roman Forum, that unrest in the Empire and the lack of faithful support amongst his Senators (not to be confused with the time wasters in that 'other place' on the hill) are not totally supportive so he must delay, etc...etc...Several of the real Caesars were forced to do exactly that between 20 B.C. and 300 AD. They partially rescinded onerous orders due to the inability to enforce them. In any case the fat lady has not even taken that usual deep breath prior to singing so I am going back to the Ops Room until Caesar Stephanus makes his move. I will log off the CFD for now. It is just too time consuming to monitor all the irrelevant and repetitive 'pastings'. If you are interested, and you should be, follow our actions on the MGR blogpage at www.morninggloryrebels.blogspot.com because the MGR is the only fully armed and combat ready attack bird left, is it not? Unless there is major change in Ottawa it will work one more time, when the Libs find a leader and attempt to pull down Caesar Stephanus, who will eventually turn to dust as just another in a long list of Conservative failures. I doubt he will even warrant a statue! If you wish to contact me email me at tester13@direct.ca or phone at 250 446 2242. I will not respond to stupid insults, especially from those easily seduced non-combatants who may soon come to realize that I was right all along. At one time I spent many days and nights on 5 minute alert with an 80 KT Nuclear Bomb strapped to my arse. I think I still remember how to get airborne, fully alert, on short notice should an enemy threaten. By the by, take the trouble to analyze the increase in parked votes for the Greens. And it did not happen in Newfy John despite Danny Williams plea to vote ABC. The fools voted Liberal!!! I suppose, because the "Rock" is not covered by a lot of Green, the thought never occurred.
