The _total_ number of accidential gun deaths in the US is about 1,400 per year for all ages; most of which were hunting accidents - and children ages 0 to 1.5 can't obtain hunting licenses. You are more likely to die from falling down the stairs [about 4,000 per year] than from a gun accidents. Most studies show that about half of all the households in the U.S. have firearms.
