Dear Sir:
The New Brunswick Firearms Alliance (NBFA) is a recently formed organization that represents several thousand of the province's legitimate firearms owners. The NBFA became necessary because of continued federal attacks on the rights of property owners and sportsmen.
This correspondence is to solicit the province's support for the NBFA in its opposition to Federal Justice Minister Allan Rock's firearms legislation. A number of provinces have already denounced it and Saskatchewan is planning a constitutional court challenge.
Enclosed is a critique on "The Government's Action Plan on Firearms Control" prepared by Saskatchewan Responsible Firearms Owners for the Attorney General of that province. Because it reflects the views of the NBFA, I would like you to consider it in its entirety.
Because the firearms issue is so significant to the many New Brunswickers who own firearms, as their representative, the NBFA Executive would like to meet with yourself and Mr. McKenna to discuss the issue. Please advise me of a time and location for such a meeting at your earliest convenience.
Thank you very much for your consideration in this serious matter. I eagerly await your response.
G.D. Calhoun
President
cc: Premier, F. McKenna
